Work in ProgressSubmitted by Sir Tachyon on 13 October, 2007 - 22:43.
Arjan (the other one) and I have spend our saturday well. Arjan came over to may place and we took today to spend a few (and a few more) much needed hours in improving the EuroGT site. Most of our work has been done at the back-end of the site, invisible for the users.
Arjan spend most of his time in updating several modules, did lots of work in getting the catagories to work properly (we got a workable solution now, but it still isn't optimal), and got various menu options working (check the node browser to quickly access postings on several categories!) and getting the Gallery working again... Well, he managed to fix the display side of things, as well as the single-login, but was unable to fix the uploading problem... yet.
Meanwhile, I was trying to figure out drupal's (the engine of our site) ways of getting things done and spend most of the day trying to get a workable solution for creating content on the EuroGT site. Nagging Arjan every five minutes for information, pestering him with questions and creating and deleting test-content. When we finally got things figured out I got to work starting to get some content on the site.
We've also been updating the previous editions on the site (so far I got to EuroGT 1.. :). The idea is to get all the past EuroGT's on the site. Including the results, reports, battle stories, and as soon as we get to upload albums also the pictures. If you've got any information, pictures, stories or anything else on past editions f the EuroGT, make sure that either Arjan or I (Remi) get the stuff.
And while the rest of you are debating David's valiant efforts on getting EurGT XIV organised, we've also been working on the preparations for the current EuroGT. We got the event registered in our calender, prepepared the sign-on (still disabled though, untill everything is official). And when things get rolling, we'll, atleast, be able to get the event organisors means to actually create some content on the site.
Still to do:
(anyone with decent knowledge on CSS, drupal and stuff like that... PLEASE help us :)
As you can see, we've still got some stuff to work out. Any ideas and tips from you folks will also be heavily appreciated. So contact us (or post to the EuroGT list) and tell us what you want for the site).
